I am studying sacred forests as a tool for mitigating climate change and protecting endangered species.

The issue of increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere causes global consequences and climate change. Sequestration of biological carbon through vegetation is one of the most cost-effective ways to reduce this gas.

Considering Bali as a small island and sacred forest being highly protected and not too disturbed is considered to be a successful pattern for carbon sequestration and climate change reduction. I propose to evaluate tree biomass, the carbon stock of sacred forests in Bali so that we can estimate the amount of carbon stocks in sacred forests in Bali. With this research, I can bridge the government and society in developing a systematic approach to the management of different types of land use, find suitable solutions to overcome the climate change crisis and ultimately achieve environmental sustainable development.

I received my Doctoral from Guangxi University, China in Forestry. I worked with National Research and Innovation Agency, Indonesia-BRIN and I also workd with the Eastern Indonesia Plant Conservation research for reintroduction and restoration. My broad interest is in sustainable development and sacred forest management.
