The Ecological Genomics Team

PhD positions in Ecological Genomics

Projects:

(1) Temperature stress memory in mangroves

(2) Conservation genomics of endangered tropical trees

The candidate will be part of a team studying the ecological genomics of tropical trees in the Indo-West Pacific. Other research topics are available for discussion following an accepted application.

Qualifications:

Project 1: Low temperature stress memory in mangroves

Candidates should have a Masters degree with a strong background in plant population genetics, epigenetics and ecophysiology. Experience in genomics and/or bioinformatics are considered a major advantage when applying.

Project 2: Conservation genomics of endangered tropical trees

Candidates should have a Masters degree with a strong background in plant population genetics and biogeography. Experience in genomics and/or bioinformatics are considered a major advantage when applying.

Opportunities:

PhD candidates will have the opportunity to develop individual research project and collaborative work with external groups. Candidates will be part of a creative and stimulating research environment consisting of Chinese and international researchers.

Both PhD positions come with a three-year scholarship that includes housing on campus. Research funding for the entire duration of the graduate study is guaranteed by the research team. Knowledge of Mandarin is not mandatory as international graduate students are provided with one semester of Mandarin language course. The working language in our research group is English.
